Meet The Coach
Kallup McCoy

Hello, my name is Kallup McCoy II and Im a proud citizen of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians. I live in Cherokee NC with my wife Katelynn, my son BK, and our Aussie, Asher. Im a man in long term recovery from meth and heroin addiction. I found my passion for fitness while I was locked up in county jail (it’s a long story 😂 feel free to ask more about it)

After serving 6 months in jail, I signed up for an Ironman 70.3, just eight weeks post release with zero experience, barely any training but a heart full of grit, determination with a sprinkle of stupid 😂 After finishing that race I immediately found my new outlet and addiction. I absolutely loved the camaraderie and community.

That first race experience was the genesis of some amazing adventures and races. In 2018 I ran around 800 miles along the Trail of Tears. Biked 1000miles along the pacific coast highway with my wife in 2019. 4- 50mile ultramarathons, Georgia Jewel 100mile trail race, Last Man Standing event, and most recently, The Boston Marathon.

After gaining some race experience, I knew I wanted to share the gift of running with others. In 2021 I earned ACE PT certification. I started coaching runners of every ability and across all distances, from the 5K to the marathon! We have a growing community of amazing, dedicated athletes and would love to have you join us!

When it comes to coaching my athletes, I subscribe to the thinking that “many roads lead to Rome.” Meaning that each athlete is unique in their ability, as well as their availability. With that understanding, I individualize and tailor a training program to meet those specific needs.

Are you ready to go all in on yourself and your running goals? Are you ready to build a strong, more resilient version of yourself?

All you need to join our team is a heart and mind set on a goal, and some grit & determination! We will train smart, train hard and go crush some incredible things, together!
